Parent Liaison Officer, North Yorkshire

Salary: NJC Pt 29 – 31 £25,951 – £27,668 pro rata
Hours: 22.5 hours / week

We are looking for someone to work with multi-agency partners in teams tackling child sexual exploitation across North Yorkshire, to act as an independent source of support and contact for parents whose children are being sexually exploited, and to liaise between statutory agencies and families in order to maximise the ability of all parties to safeguard a child a risk of, or being sexually exploited by perpetrators external to the family.

You will have good active listening skills, be able to give non-judgmental emotional support, have the ability to empathise and engage with affected parents, and respect their vital role in safeguarding their child. You will be able to liaise and develop a good rapport with partner agencies in the teams covering North Yorkshire, and offer advice on good practice relating to working in partnership with affected parents. You will maintain your own professional practice and ensure ongoing development through use of supervision and training. You will adhere to Pace ethos and policies including equal opportunities and diversity.

This post is currently funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office for North Yorkshire until 31 Dec 2018, with a commitment to find further continued funding.
