Parent network days

Ivison Trust arranges events throughout the year that enable affected parents to meet each other, share experiences and offer one another support.

What to expect

Our network days are designed to provide parents with a space to reflect and relax with other parents who understand what it is for a family to experience child sexual exploitation.

A typical day will feature a morning of small group sharing sessions where parents can talk about any issues they are facing to both lend and receive support from others. After a social lunch where parents can get to know each other better, the afternoon comprises workshops on special topics, which could include creative exercises, discussions for actions parents would like to take or brainstorming for tools and tips. You can see feedback from some of our past parent network days in the short film at the top of this page, and below.

‘There are no labels; we’re not judged.’

‘It can be hard to hear other parents’ experiences and to feel the pain but I am always glad to go, as it fires me with the spirit to fight.’

‘It would be nice to see more men – more fathers and male partners.’
