Parent Liaison Officer, Wakefield

Salary: NJC Pt 29 – 31 £26,999 – £28,785
Hours: 37 hours

We are looking for someone to work with multi-agency partners in Wakefield tackling child sexual and criminal exploitation, to act as an independent source of support and contact for parents whose children are being sexually and criminally exploited, and to liaise between statutory agencies and families in order to maximise the ability of all parties to safeguard a child a risk of, or being exploited by individuals from outside the family.

You will have good active listening skills, be able to give non-judgmental emotional support, have the ability to empathise and engage with affected parents, and respect their vital role in safeguarding their child. You will be able to liaise and develop a good rapport with partner agencies in Wakefield, and offer advice on good practice relating to working in partnership with affected parents. You will maintain your own professional practice and ensure ongoing development through use of supervision and training. You will adhere to Pace ethos and policies including equal opportunities and diversity.

The post is initially funded to 31 December 2021 by Wakefield Council and West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commission, with a commitment to finding continued funding.
