We were so grateful to have hosted 21 families at our parent event in Leeds, West Yorkshire, in June 2022.
Despite the pain and challenges of every parent living through the trauma of child exploitation, the weekend was a chance for these parents to come together in a safe space to share their experiences and receive support from our team.
The weekend restored my faith in people, for the first time in 4 years the sentiment of being able to discuss the horrific incidents with likeminded parent’s has been liberating and positively emotional. The event has enabled me to rejuvenate my energy to survive the enduring trauma and essentially this supports me as stronger parent for my daughter without the apprehension of giving up
Parents have found amazing strength and benefits from meeting each other at these events and made valuable connections during this unique opportunity to receive peer support.
I just wanted to thank you for the amazing opportunity to be there this weekend was a big step for me but it is what I needed, I have come away and learnt so much & how others deal with their trauma & just everyday life. Thank you so much
We were able to facilitate a men’s only session; giving space to dads and male caregivers to talk about their own experiences of child exploitation. It was great to hear how beneficial this was to them.
Meeting other parents who understand and have had similar experiences is unmeasurable. I have realised I’m not alone
Thank you to each and every parent who came and shared their stories, opened up and took part.
The weekend could not have been a success without the terrific workshops from Fiona Broadfoot, Build a Girl Foundation, and Lisa Thompson. And a special thank you to our generous sponsors for funding this incredible event. It truly makes a difference to these families.
Thank you to the Pace team for this amazing event, it has been the best support, I could never have imagined how much I needed this weekend
