Alcohol and drugs

Alcohol and drug usage is common during the grooming process, in order to lure young people into sexual behaviour or deliberately intoxicate them against resistance.

If your child returns home under the influence of large amounts of alcohol, it is important that they have plenty of liquids to hand and that they are not left alone. Do not encourage them to bathe because of the risk of drowning. Children under the influence of drugs may be prone to panic and disorientation, so it is important to keep calm, stay with them and help them to breathe slowly.
