Disrupting Child Exploitation
A multi-agency approach
Do you want to gain an understanding how you can work more effectively with the police and local authorities to help pursue offenders and protect children who are being sexually or criminally exploited?
Our 1 day course will provide an insight into how legislation can be employed to protect children from being exploited, what tactics the police use to investigate offenders and the process involved in prosecutions.
Our course will be delivered by Mark Whelan, an ex Detective Sergeant of Lancashire Constabulary who has 23 years of experience in policing and managed one of the first multi-agency teams who dealt with child sexual exploitation as a specialism.
Learning objectives
- Understand how disruption techniques can be used to safeguard children at risk of criminal and sexual exploitation
- Understand the processes involved when investigating offenders of child exploitation
- Recognise the support needs of witnesses and victims when entering the judicial process

This course is for anyone who works with children and young people at risk of exploitation, or who comes into contact with children and families in their role.
